  My wife and I reviewed on the 2nd of July with our representative broker, a downtown Athens commercial property on the downtown square. We showed up on time to view the property, but the listing broker did a poor job of insuring the property was ready to show with access when a confirmed appointment was made for 2 o'clock that day. We stood in the boiling heat for well over an half an hour before a county employee opened up what was the former tax office of the county in downtown Athens. This building, a three story monster filled with junk to the brim was a total disgrace and only worthy of being a tear-down for the city of Athens. It is no wonder it has been on the market for well over two years. Having such a property listed by a broker who did not take the smallest step to insure a timely showing is a joke to one who calls themselves a realtor on the listing sign before the building. The city of Athens either needs to have the courage to demonish this building or at the very least, clean the junk out of the building if they wish to sell it. Additionally they are in dire need to have a professional broker actually list it, rather than the ones currently shown as the brokers.
